Market District and GetGo team up with Gleaners to deliver donations
To kick off its new fuelperks+ program, which saves customers money on both gas and groceries, Market District and GetGo are providing Gleaners with a donation to cover all costs associated with fueling its delivery vehicles this holiday season. In addition to donating a $2,500 GetGo gift card to use on fuel, Market District will make a 10-cent donation to Gleaners for every customer transaction made using a Market District or GetGo Advantage Card (used to earn and redeem fuelperks+ rewards) throughout December up to $10,000.
Through its network of 250 charitable hunger relief agencies, Gleaners provides food assistance to more than 260,000 people. That’s one in six Hoosiers in its 21-county service area. The organization spends an average of $8,000 in fuel each month to power 11 refrigerated box trucks, two tractor trailers and two mobile pantry units transporting food throughout Central Indiana.
“Nearly all of our campaigns and partnerships focus specifically on food and monetary donations, but the fact that Market District and GetGo are providing the fuel for our delivery vehicles is incredibly unique and important,” said Joe Slater, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Gleaners. “While the food donations from our community partners are vital to helping us meet our mission, we are grateful that Market District and GetGo are thinking about how to ensure the food gets to hungry Hoosiers.”
The new fuelperks+ loyalty program—being piloted exclusively in Indiana—offers customers the opportunity to earn up to $100 off groceries at Carmel Market District or up to $3 off per gallon of fuel at GetGo. Here’s how it works:
For every $50 spent at Carmel Market District or Central Indiana GetGo locations, Advantage Card customers will earn either two percent off of a future shopping order at Market District or 10 cents off per gallon of fuel at GetGo.
Qualifying purchases include the vast majority of food and of the items found in-store at Market District and GetGo. Unique to the fuelperks+ program, when not redeeming rewards, customers can also earn rewards on fuel purchases at the pump!
Rewards can be accumulated and used all at once to save in a bigger way on food and fuel. Rewards expire two months from the last day of the month in which they are earned.
Just in time for holiday shopping, customers can earn fuelperks+ on retailer gift cards that can be gifted, or used like cash to make giving the perfect gift more rewarding than ever.
When customers fill 10 prescriptions at the Carmel Market District pharmacy, they can also earn five percent off groceries or 25 cents off per gallon of fuel at GetGo.
Customers get closer to rewards with every visit to Market District and GetGo. Nearly every purchase of food or fuel, no matter the amount, counts toward the $50 threshold.
