Help CSO Celebrate leadership of Dr. Alan Davis

Help the CSO celebrate the leadership and career of Dr. Alan Davis as they close the 2017-18 season.

As the 2017-18 season for the Carmel Symphony Orchestra draws to an end, friends and audience members are invited to join the CSO on April 14 during the final concert under the leadership of President and CEO, Dr. Alan Davis.

After 18 years with the CSO, Dr. Davis will retire prior to next season's first performance. (To read more about Dr. Davis, click here.) Among the special activities, Dr. Davis will conduct one of his favorite pieces, Alfred Reed's "Russian Christmas Music." A reception following the concert in the Founders Room is open to the public. CSO Concertmaster Larry Shapiro will be the featured artist and Charles Prince returns to the Palladium stage to guest conduct.

The performance, dedicated to Dr. Davis, begins at 7:30 p.m. at The Palladium. A pre-concert conversation featuring Shapiro and Prince begins at 6:45 p.m.

This globally recognized artist will play Bruch’s “Concerto No. 1 in G minor,” one of the most moving, romantic pieces in symphonic music. Also slated for the program is Rimsky-Korsakov’s Procession of the Nobles, and Wagner's Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde. The program and season concludes with the mesmerizing Suite from Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky.
