Mid-season update on Carmel construction projects
As we enter into the dog days of summer, the City of Carmel is providing this brief update on a few key construction projects.
136th Street Path – This project is on schedule to reopen 136th Street to two way traffic prior to the start of school next week. Final completion of the project is anticipated in October.
126th Street Path - This project is on schedule to have areas near Mohawk Trails Elementary School and Clay Middle School completed prior to the start of school next week. Final completion of the project is anticipated in October.
Guilford Road reconstruction – This project is on schedule to open Guilford Road from City Center through the Emerson Road intersection before the start of school next week.
Guilford and Main roundabout – This phase of the project has been put on hold due to utility delays. We are hoping to begin this phase by mid-September. With a full closure planned, it should take about 60 days to complete.
96th and Keystone interchange – Work continues on schedule and we continue to anticipate substantial completion by the end of this year.
96th and Gray roundabout – Project is slightly delayed due to the discovery of an underground fuel tank that needs to be removed.
96th and Delegates Row roundabout – This project is slightly delayed for utility relocation needs that have yet to be completed. Construction is estimated to begin by Mid-September and is set for a December completion.
