City of Carmel to host Colts Watch Party

The City of Carmel will host a special road game “Watch Party” at the city’s Midtown Plaza when the Indianapolis Colts visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, November 3. The party is free and open to the public and will include appearances by Colts Cheerleaders, the Colts Play 60 Zone, the Colts in Motion traveling museum, free giveaways and much more. Food and beverages from several Carmel area restaurants and food trucks, including special tailgating breakfast items, also will be available for purchase. Ample free parking is available in the area.

Since opening in May 2019, Midtown Plaza has become a destination for visitors, residents and daytime office workers looking for a place to gather with friends and family. A range of free amenities are available in the area, including neighborhood green spaces, community tables and benches, shade structures and a 16-footwide video screen for live sporting events, occasional movies and other video highlights of Carmel. This is the second large viewing party at Midtown. Earlier this year, it hosted a party to watch the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team compete in the World Cup finals, drawing more than 500 people to the plaza. NFL teams are permitted to host a limited number of road game watch parties per season. All requests must be approved by the Colts. Unauthorized watch parties are prohibited by the NFL.

The schedule for the day will be as follows: 9 a.m. the party begins as tailgating areas open. From 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Colts in Motion will be open. From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. get photos and autographs with Colts Cheerleaders, and at 1 p.m. is the Colts-Steelers kickoff.

Midtown Plaza is located at 365 Monon Trail, Carmel

NOTE: Fans are permitted to bring in their own food and beverages, but all bags and items are subject to search. No grilling will be permitted. Fans may bring their own chairs, blankets and other items.
